The client prints designs on t-shirts and uses a liquid conditioner to cure inks within the printing process. The original supplier of the conditioner (and manufacturer of the equipment) was overseas and the local agent ceased supply to the UK, resulting in a cost and continuity issue, so the brief from the client was to develop an alternative liquid.
A liquid conditioner was developed from scratch in the laboratory to not only ensure that the ink goes solid within the printing process, but that it has a rapid action with low overspray.
The samples were tested by the client and the first batch of 5,000L was produced and supplied, with an ongoing commitment. The lead time of enquiry, through product development and testing to supply was just three months.
