Case Study 4

ISSUE

Following a factory fire, the original client needed a new manufacturing plant – and fast – for the manufacture of domestic / retail wood treatment products. This emergency response was a complex project due to the low flashpoint of the products and the need to produce a retail-quality product.

SOLUTION

Rutpen set up a dedicated wax polish production facility, dealing with the complexities of melting waxes into flammable solvents and taking full precautions, including ATEX-rated equipment. Tests were carried out under laboratory conditions to ensure colour matching and a system of in-line cooling developed to ensure the consistency of the product.

OUTCOME

When the brand was sold a few years later, the new owner had its own facility but decided to leave the manufacture with Rutpen, where it continues to be produced. To date, Rutpen have produced over five million tins of wax.
